Creating a New Brand, Logo, Identity and Website
A major Detroit-based printer of high-quality, oversized prints entered the printed artwork DTC market and needed a brand with an attitude to sell street-style, graffity-style and surreal art work.
Brand Strategy: A Name, Logo and Visual Identity with a Lot of Attitude
We created a name that represented subversive street art, as opposed to the stuffy artwork commonly found in posh galleries.
We named it “Black Sheep Arts” to communicate the attitude of the artists in the platform, which speaks to the customer base as well. We created a logo consistent with that attitude and reminiscent of a black sheep’s head with the horns sticking out.
We designed an overall identity showing clashing colors to reflect the proper attitude.
We developed the site with an opening attitude, but carefully keeping the UI/UX navigation-friendly to ensure not only engagement, but ease of commerce.
